    I have had Cox HSI for 15 months. For the past year the service has been virtually trouble-free with only 1 brief loss of connection when we were without all cable service.

    Last Wednesday night the connection speed dropped to virtually nothing. Thursday morning, I checked it again. No better. Called Cox technical support. The technician was unable to fix the problem centrally. Arrangements were made for a service call on Saturday. The service technician arrived within the agreed time.

    Took disconnecting my router and going through 3 separate PCs to convince the service tech that something was wrong with the cable modem. He could see the modem but connection through it to the Internet was erratic and slow. He ultimately replaced the old Scientific Atlanta modem with a new Motorola Surfboard modem model 5B5101. Problem fixed. Elapsed time; 1 hour.
