"Reliability is good -- impressive uptime, problems fixed quickly"
"You'll see about a tenth of your bandwidth if you're lucky. Congested, at least in my area."
"For the price you get good reliability, but the lines are apparently pretty congested. We're looking to switch."

This review is for over 10 different COX business connections that I administer around Baton Rouge.
I noticed that the site wanted more COX reviews, and I have a lot of experience with them. I registered solely to post this review.
Let me first say that the uptime is really surprising for a cable connection. Also, outages are fixed quickly, and I receive prompt responses from my sales contact whenever I want to setup new sites.
However, the amount of throughput that you actually receive compared to the amount of bandwidth that they advertise is comical at best. I have one "3 meg down" link that starts having 500+ms pings to the default gateway when the traffic passed across the router exceeds 300K/s down. I contacted COX about this and a tech came out (quickly, I'll add). However, he pretty much told me that I'd have to upgrade the amount of bandwidth I purchase if I wanted this to change.
As I'm writing this I decided to get an up-to-the-minute test. I am currently on a "10 meg down" connection from COX. At 800K/s down the ping from the router to the default gateway exceeded 100ms.
If you're thinking about going with COX do your research around your area and see if it's congested or not. I don't doubt that it's a great service if you happen to have a lightly loaded node, as the reliability and the price are both on point. However, we will be moving all locations from COX to another provider within the next year, as the bandwidth is simply not anywhere close to the rate advertised.
