Ive been using Cox Cable for high speed internet as well as HD TV service for a few years now. Currently I've got the 1.5mb/s service which is the "cheapest" service available at around $30 a month. This seems to translate to downloads being capped at around 200Kb/s from browsers like Firefox, Safari, and IE7, as well as Valves Steam digital distribution and thats on Vista and OS X. Our connection is currently split between a desktop, an iMac, 3 laptops, and the occasional iPhone surfing and while downloading something big on one computer, bandwidth is hardly affected on another. However, if your looking for a little more bandwidth they have a very nice selection of services to cater to your needs/budget. For the most part the service is very reliable. We've only had issues with it a few times per year. Some of the times its my wireless router but whatever the case Cox's on the phone tech support is very helpful and quick to resolve and all issues. When compared to my previous internet provider (SBC Yahoo! DSL) the speed is much better, the connection is much more reliable, though in terms of extras included SBC was offering free access to their internet radio service which was a nice little add on. Cox doesn't provide anything extra on top of your service but thats a rather mute point.
I'd recommend Cox's internet service for anyone in the area and especially to those who are currently using DSL service.
