    What can I say. I love my job. If I can help anyone with anything, let me know.
    I have been contacted several times by customers through this site. All I need is the HFC MAC ID and I can find out anything we need to know about what kind of issues you are or are not having.
    I'll be honest and state that out of 5 contacts, 3 were PC based issues. Those were slow speed calls. 2 were, "It keeps going off and on." Those 2 were home wiring issues and self installs.
    I'm on here to help anyone that is local as best I can and still complete my scheduled duties. Just drop me a line.

    wireless router with Mediacom

    As a computer technician, I am frequently asked to do wireless router installs. It has been a long time since I worked with Mediacom. Is it possible to set up a wireless router without paying the extra $5.95 per month fee to Mediacom? thanks.

    I'm not too sure what you mean but I'll take a shot at it

    I believe the $5.95 fee is for a static IP address.

    In a residential situation you can connect a wireless router to your Modem and issue out as many IP's as your router allows bearing in mind the amount of users assinged an IP from your router, be it wireless or not, will use more bandwidth. The more users "USING" the connection the more you "MAY" notice some lag or decreased speed.

    As with any post I make, this is "my opinion only" and does not reflect the official stand point of Mediacom
