I live in a small isolated town. Our choices are 1.5 Mbps DSL for $20/month or 8/10/15 Mbps cable internet for $45-60 per month. We're lucky to have any broadband at all, so I guess I can't complain.
I have not experienced any ISP downtime at all in the past year. Their speed dips to around 3.0 Mbps during peak hours, but ping is always good and I never notice any serious packet loss. The internet and VOIP connections are rock solid. If you have the $, you can get a pretty decent connection, especially during off-hours....
No local HD channels is lame! The lack of HD locals angers me. Analog picture quality is nothing special. Digital channels come in crystal clear.
I'm seriously thinking about dropping Mediacom as my cable provider and keeping them for VOIP and cable internet. Instead, I would use a satellite dish for digital and HD programming.
