If you dont believe me look at their own support page. To many complaints of outages and slow speeds.

What other options did you consider for broadband? Only other option is dialup
What SPEED/package did you order, at what monthly price? $55 for 20down 2up but get 10down 2up.

How was the order & install process? Ordering was easy and install was fast.
What good or bad experiences most struck you? Constant disconnects and slow speeds. Tech coming to my house all the time just to tell me there is nothing they can do to fix the problem and the fact that it has been going on for months. This is everyday all day not intermittent problems.

5/2/2013 Update: Well it has been a year and nothing has been done to fix this issue. I have reported to the BBB but since Mediacom is not a BBB accredited business that went nowhere. I have nothing but run-a-rounds with them and of course there is no other option for TV or internet but Mediacom (no OTA in my area) and they know this. As you can see I do many speed test (»www.speedtest.net/result ··· 92&ria=0) and this is just how Mediacom does things. Just to let everyone know this should be the new ad for Mediacom:

Well I would like to state that things are better but....The only difference is from today and all the years ago when I did this review is I pay a lot more. As matter of fact I am paying a total of $193 per month. I did upgrade my internet service to 100mib from 20. My speeds stay close to that but my modem has been rebooting every 5-10 min for the past 3 months. So with that said nothing new same ole net not working like I have paid for. I know but after 3 months I have given up hope that it will be fixed. My monthly fee goes up but service is still around 50% of what I am suppose to get.
