I switched to WOW from Earthlink DSL because I was being forced to pay for basic cable anyway. Explanation: When I first moved into my condo, I was getting basic cable, but not getting a bill. This continued for almost 3 years! Finally, WOW figured out I was connected, but not getting billed.
The price for basic cable, modem lease, 2.0M/300k internet, and taxes is $65. This is only $15 more than 1.5M/384k DSL I was paying Earthlink before.
This is for dynamic IP, leasing a basic Hitron BRG-3520 modem.
So for $15 I get cable and faster internet, AND now I'm free to get rid of my phone line or dump the overpriced SBC as phone carrier.
WOW speeds have been as advertised, signal strength good (-7.5 and +45), installation was easy (cakewalk compared to my nightmare DSL install!!) webmail is nice.

speeds are now 4.0M/300k at the same price, but last few months have had speed problems, mostly at peak times. Hopefully this will be corrected by WOW.
IP address is supposedly dynamic, but I have had the same IP for many months now. Other WOW customers have said same IP for over a year! Cool.

I now have a SA8300 DVR from WOW and it has been nice. Internet speeds are now 4.0M/500k at the same price. No speed or connection problems in recent memory.
