    We were in the first group of about 12 people in our area to get Insight while it was still @Home. Called, ordered it and the tech came out in 7 days and installed a new cable line and modem. We decided on a new jack, picked a spot and they did the rest, Self-install was not an option in those days.

    The service was so new back then, they had 'quirks' that needed fixing for the first 2 - 3 months but we decided to stick it out to see how things went and Beta tested version 2. Tech support was awesome back then as it is now, only now with longer hold times as the coverage area gets larger.

    We've had very few problems with our connection. Speed is close to what was promised and has been consistent. We generally get about 3840 down/ and 358 up with a max at 3950/360. The cost is $44.95/month ($10.00 discount if you have Insight Cable).

    Update:
    We've added multiple computers to our "home network" with absolutely nothing to install other than the router.

    There hasn't been a price increase since we signed up with them so far and speeds are better now than they were a year ago with an expected increase coming late this year (2006).
    Despite the problems during their backbone switch in the summer of 2006, with customers in other areas describing long, sporadic outages (we were down approximately 24 hours one week followed by an 18 hour disruption the following week), connection and speeds have remained solid and steady in my area with no disruption to service since then.

    Six years later, I still remain a very satisfied Insight Broadband customer!
