10/28/07: I wanted to be sure to update this review IF Insight fixed my installation issue. They did come out 3 days later to install a new line to my house. They were quick to inform me that billing wouldn't start until my issue was resolved. In fact, they called a few days later to be sure that I was satisfied with my service. I have since improved the scores for Insight's service. I will note that I have a 2-way signal amplifier on the line to compensate for the splitters.

The connection speed is blazing fast, and page loads are somewhat faster than DSL, but not to an extreme. However, the downloads are where I really notice the speed difference. I was able to download a 1.8 gigabyte file (game demo) in about 25 minutes. I do notice at peak times that page loads take a little longer, but the difference is not unbearable. So far in only a week I haven't noticed the connection totally going down.

10/19/07: I used to have InsightBB until five years ago when I signed up for Ameritech DSL. AT&T is getting unbearable for me to deal with. After five years of having DSL, I called Insight to install cable TV and broadband again. I was hoping to have a blazing fast internet connection for $30/month. What I actually have is a connection that doesn't seem any faster than my DSL, with packet loss to boot. The problem is that Insight has only one line running across a ravine in back of my house to service three residences. In order to get service to my house the installer had to split the line from my neighbor's house. That means the signal was about -13db coming into the house according to the installer. This is BEFORE any splitters. Well, amazingly the modem synced up. I started to use the connection, and I could instantly tell there was some packet loss. After doing continuous pings to Google, the packet loss ranged anywhere from 1 to 7%. The connection seems as though it is much worse. A speed test turned out OK at about 9700 kbps down/950 kbps up, but I can't even run Vonage off this connection because of the packet loss. I won't even mention the problems with digital and analog TV. It's a good thing I didn't cancel AT&T DSL yet because I had to reconnect for a good high-speed connection. Another line technician is supposed to be out in a few days to redo the line my house. I'll post back hopefully after the problem is resolved.
