    Thanks to recommendations here I picked Butler Networks when I bought this house almost 5 years ago and the only time my connection has not worked was when my power was out. I already had a modem and subscribed immediately after I ordered the phone line so Bill let me pick up the phone filters in person and I had internet as soon as the phone line was working. I have not needed much in the way of customer service but the two times I had questions (both when I did a network trace and saw something new, such as when they changed email providers) one email and I get a prompt reply from Bill himself. About the only downside is I have to have a land line which I otherwise would not need and I now see that they offer wireless so I may be talking to them again in the near future.

    I have the 1.5 package and this is what I just got on a test with Speakeasy in Palo Alto, CA:
    Download: 1200 (Kbps)
    Upload: 211 (Kbps)
    In kilobytes per second: 146.5 down 25.8 up

    A lot closer to home, here is what I just got with EPB in Chattanooga:
    Download Speed: 1303 kbps (162.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
    Upload Speed: 210 kbps (26.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

    I would love to hear from some Butler customers who have the wireless service since I occasionally hammer my connection (downloading an OS, etc)....
