I was supposed to be provisioned at 6/1M. Due to being a ways out I accepted the 1.5m sync when I first got the service. It ran well for me most of the time for the first 9 months or so. had 1 big storm come through and the DSL went down for 30 min or so. I had good pings even in Europe, I was getting decent download speeds. I asked about the reverse DNS and found I had to call for the webmaster 9-4 week days to get that setup. I was a little frustrated with that policy. It also took a call or so to get the speed and such right when it was first turned on. due to being a computer tech I had no need for setup at my end.

approximately 3 mo ago just before the big thaw when the storms started coming through. High wind or a good storm would shut down my dsl and phone service. we called about it a couple times and the tech said wait till the summer and we can get that line fixed proper. once it all thawed and the rain storms started even a little sprinkle would kill service. called several times and a couple more service tech's later no good. I had even ran commercial grade phone line direct from the box to the modem. that is the only line connected and was the only device, no phones, Same result. After a couple more calls the response was more of what do you mean its not normal to loose service after/during a rain storm. last month was daily showers for most of the month we were lucky to be able to make calls at all. I had from no internet to 200k my upload was normally faster then download. i had a long stretch of 33k and this was all from their diagnostic speed test page. I had been told that any thing above 600k was considered good/normal.

Upon closing of service they threw a fit and tried to back charge us for business service that they did not have available when originally signing up. when we originally signed we discussed with them the servers I had and verified there was no issue with using their service to host them as is. It took a while before they finally gave up and accepted the original terms and close out process. for those who have to work during the day and dont have much time to deal with catching a person directly this company is a pain to deal with. there are no automated processes for things like reverse dns requests. I was not able to get an email address to make my request to. I had to call or show up in person to one of their admins in order to get changes made. and since it is long distance from work I was never able to do that over lunch with company provided equipment.

we also had to fight with customer support for several calls that they wanted to bill us for since the phone worked fine the next day when their tech came. they had issues with water or somthing getting in to switch boxes (my guess) as after strong winds and storms went away an hour or 2 later every thing would come back up. trying to get a repair tech to come out when its storming is nearly impossible...
