Since RIchard Bransons empire took over - this service has gone from the best to the worst - there is just no need for traffic shaping, just upgrade your servers - yes this costs money - but do you think the internet is just to check your email's??

Well had a day off last week and decided to download a file from the net - hey presto VM have now introduced new traffic shaping technology!!

So if you take there new 50MB service and download inexcess of their agreed amounts your throttled back a total of 75%

why pay for a substandard service? why give you that speed and say sorry you've crossed the threshold...!!

I want to go DSL now - found a TitanADSL »www.ispreview.co.uk/review/products/586.html however I have to pay for a BT line installation!!

    Waste Of Time Internet

I have been with Virgin since the very early NTL/Telewest days and up until last year never had a single problem with it.
Then one day i started to get a lot of Disconnections on games, net pages crashing or taking ages to load. After continuing to report this since October last year and 34 phone calls later, i finally got a call from a senior technician to admit and confirm the is an exchange traffic overload problem in my area, and surprise surprise its been faulty since Oct 2008.
Now for the great part, getting to this answer has taken me to their Indian call centre on numerous occasions where they all spout the same " Have you reset/tried a new modem" drivel. In short i now have a massive internet Packet Loss and connection issue which wont be fixed until.... October 2009!!!!!
I cannot believe the cheek, and have been offered no refund, reduced rate or anything. We have basically been told by virgin we are free to look elsewhere for a new ISP. Which is what i am in the process of doing, poor service from a BIG company.
