    My Other Reviews·Be There
I have now upgraded from 20/768k to the DOCSIS 3 based 50M/1.5M in order to try and mitigate the congestion and signal issues which were causing my service to struggle to break 3 or 4Mbit at times.

Since this upgrade I am no longer subject to the throttling that other tiers of service suffer.

Service is ok but desperately short of upstream, a ratio of worse than 33:1 isn't good enough and needs addressing. Other than that I have no real complaints with the new service in mind, though it's dubious having to upgrade to escape a congested network.

Update: Since upgrade I've had some reliability issues, these have progressively gotten worse as time has gone on - I'm now at approximately 10% downtime over a period of 2 months - I have used broadband for over 9 years now and this is the most unreliable service I have ever had, 2nd place being another Virgin Media connection, and 3rd.

    Throttling

A 3 Gig download in the space of a few hours amounts to about 3 full length movies or thousands of songs. A fraction of that should be sufficient for anyone using a broadband connection legally.

The network capacity is not infinite so stop being so damn greedy and let others get a chance. If I was Virgin Media and you were downloading at that rate regularly, I would be reporting you to the authorities.

Oh I see so the World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King expansion beta is illegal?

I do feel very guilty over my total 70GB downstream usage in the past 4 months being the incredible leech that I am.

Incidentally 3GB is equal to about 1/3rd of a dual layer DVD, which are available perfectly legally online.

dirt hasn't quite yet grasped the concept of replying to a post by clicking on the little "Reply" button instead of the big "Reply OP" button.

He *is* improving, however. He's using his new-found knowledge of commas and periods to improve the readability of his comments. Although, if he gets a little flustered he reverts back to earlier behavior.

That thread is an instant classic. He brings cluelessness to a new level.
