Well, my DSL was installed today, however I don't have service. The
first problem was the signal from the CO. After running some tests, I
was informed that I was over 18,000 feet from the Co, not 13,000 as
previously thought. The tech doing the install re-assured me that this
should not be a problem. After some tweaking on Rythm's end, I finally
got a green light on the modem! My joy was short lived though. When the
install tech tried to Ping the gateway, every one timed out. Since the
tech was nearing his two hour limit for the install, he set it up and
told me that Rythms/Phoenix will call me on Saturday to finish the
hook-up. It seems that there may have been some problems with Rythms and
Phoenix communicating with each other regarding the installs. Can anyone
either confirm or deny this?
Backing up a bit, Von Francis has been fantastic up to this point. He
has been very patient with my extensive questions, listened to my
concerns, and took time to explain the service. I never felt any
pressure to sign up with Phoenix.
I'll post again after some progress has been made.
