I ordered service from AT&T over the phone in mid-day on July 2nd. The sales representative I spoke with tried to sell me a variety of phone features I didn't want, including long distance, but they were courteous and did not press the issue. (A simple "no" was enough.) I signed up for three 6Mbps/768Kbps Elite DSL lines at $34.99 per month each. By Friday afternoon (July 6th), all three lines were up and running.

I purchased three lines to use with my Clarkconnect Enterprise homebuilt Multi-WAN router. I had some issues getting the included Speedstream 4100B Modems to play well with the router in normal DHCP mode. The Modems would have sporadic issues in which the Modems would fail to acquire a new dynamic IP or the connection would stop responding. To fix these issues, I had to log into the Modems and use Bridged Mode along with PPPoE on the Clarkconnect router. I have not had a problem since.

I wanted to host a low-traffic web site on my connection (that I use for family bulletins) and found no issue, as port 80 is not blocked.

Below is a speed test. Note that the line is getting at least 80% of the advertised speed. This informs me that I'm getting my money's worth. All 3 of the lines are nearly identical in speed.

Below is a trace route. Notice the low variance of the hop pings and the first-hop latency (#1 is not included - that is my router and is irrelevant to the service)

    Trace complete.

I play WoW and Battlefield 2142 regularly and although my server is Central and I'm on the West coast, I regularly ping ~100-120 in game during the 5pm-9pm heavy usage time. Ping times to BF 2142 West Coast servers are typically very good. 30-40ms is not uncommon. Lag spikes are incredibly rare - I believe I've seen 1 since I've had the lines.

I don't think I've ever had an ISP before that doesn't have something substantially wrong with it, but this is a first. I'm very pleased with AT&T DSL.
