The DSL service (or lack of it) is bad and is getting worse - outages, disconnects, and generally intermittent.
The customer service (when finally connected to a live person) is worse. I've been put on perpetual hold, cut off, given absolutely ludicrous information, told that I can get a free upgrade - then told "I don't know who told you that," lied to about with whom I spoke when I asked for a supervisor, refused when I requested an in-house line check even though I pay a monthly fee for that, and of course, received the now infamous excuse of "the problem is not on our end," told that my router is broken, and the list goes on and on and on...
The annoying/amusing bit - when I first ordered my DSL service, the English-as-a-second-language person misspelled my e-mail address, so I always have to misspell to access anything.
The best example of ATT DSL "service" was when I experienced a total outage, I called and a tech did show up. He fiddled around with the phone filter, looked toward the router as he passed it by, and left without repairing anything - he just got into his truck and left - with no comment, no goodbye, nothing. I called again, and another tech finally showed up a couple of days later. He did the same fiddling around, told me my router was bad, then concluded that my filter wasn't filtering (his words). When I asked him why I had no phone or DSL service, he replied, "It's just bad luck."
Yep, that's what is - ATT DSL is just plain bad luck.
