    It sucks that att took over bellsouth's dsl service. att is TRASH! Waste of money for extreme service that gives average of 786k. Less than a meg!! I'm in a highrise and the little old lady down the hallway in her apartment has faster dsl (lite) than my extreme.
    Lots more to this but bottom line is there are Many BETTER and cheaper dsl providers.

    Steer Clear and Away from att! Don't do it! You Will Regret It!

    Have you called support about your slow DSL? My ATT DSL is always up to speed but I have seen a problem connection. My brother's 3meg DSL was running at 330K until we called tech support. Several techs flipped switches and reset a router and we were getting 2.4megs at the end of the phone call. Good luck.

    Yeahh I've called. They have me on record at LEAST 6 times! Past two MONTHS! First time nothing was done, second, then third time an outsourced tech. was sent, he couldn't figure out why I was slow, but my neighbor Fast and only paying for dsl-lite. He swapped out my GOOD modem, put in an even crappier modem, turned it on to bridge mode, I configured my w-router to ppoe, (the Point Of Pure Punk End EXTRA SLOWNESS!!), left. Still GARBAGE! I Reset the newest crap modem att gave, undid ppoe, got back a little speed, got pissed off Every Minute of the Working Day because of the CRAP as Slow as 56k connecting!!,, Called back, got a nice woman on the phone, made me sit LITERALLY!!!!!!- 97 MINUTES on Hold! Couldn't figure, said call me back next morning. Did, but I was out. Caught her that eve.. She said call back next day, Did at 9:30a.,, Put me on HOLD,, I WAITED another 45 minutes, she came back on, said couldn't call higher up techs. right now, would call me back,, Then, She Never Called Me Back! att is Trash, and att is a very bad and poor dsl provider!!

    You see? I Am a FULL Computer Administrator! WinBloze, MaC., Unix, Any Version You Name It,, I'm GOOD!,, Networking PROPERLY is just a slice of the big pie to me!

    Repeatedly asking for discounted rate from $49 monthly, because of Total Garbage Access and bandwidth rates,, told "no such, no can do!!"

    att Sucks, and Always Will!! I Hope they Go Bankrupt REALLY SOON, and hope then, when the next company that takes over their clients will ROCK like bellsouth did and others DO!

    Down with att! Get a REAL dsl provider and don't go through their Ignorant OUTSOURCED people, reading from a screen, acting like you are dumb, not getting anything resolved!

    att is Bad News!! Watch Out! STAY AWAY from att!! att poor service. att bad response. att bad company..

    check local routing...

    I had a similar problem at the beginning of my att serice. After a few techs came they figured that my line from the pole was on another route down the road as the one in the apartment downstairs. They spent all day re-routing me onto another grid. Once they did that, almost instantly, i was at full speed and and no drop offs. It takes a bit to get them to do that (refer to the 3 tech thing) but if you really insist on it they will send them. I do agree with the support calls though. The normal wait time is 45 minutes only to get someone you cant understand. I call, and once they pick up, i immediatly ask for a supervisor. Once you have called once, you will get a case number. Use that to demand a super. Good luck.

    This is not the beginning of dsl service for me, and att took over BellSouth a Long Time ago.. My service was perfect,(BellSouth Originally Since the 90's), up until, I dropped cell service with att,(Wayy Over Priced and TRIED to RIP ME OFF ON THAT), I dropped land line service with them,(Jerking me Off On Stupid EXTRA Fees), Then, "I Took MY Telephone Number Away", of Years Past Had, From Them, To my Own VOIP Server, And They F*CKED Me on DSL service Onwards, afterwards for that, for the next 2 months, and they Just Simply S U C K!

    No adjusting of fees for their Non-Service, after repeatedly Asking Discount?

    att is Garbage, Trash, att Bad dsl provider!

    Do not sign up with att dsl, You Will Regret It!
