So far, I have had several problems with setup, connection and staying connected. I just had the service installed this weekend 3/4/00 and the technician had a terrible time syncing the connection. First he claimed my two 900 mhz phones were not going to be compatible with DSL. This really concerned me and pissed me off since no one ever said 900 mhz phones would cause connection problems. After we disconnected the 900 mhz phones, the syncing problem continued. He then said I have an internal wiring problem. After 5 hours, he finally got the modem to sync up. He left with "good luck wishes" and said if I continue to have problems I should contact the phone company to test my wiring.
After he left, the modem had troubles syncing and staying connected. I called Mindspring support and was disconnected 2 times when their support guys tried to transfer me. Finally, I was able to get a hold of tech support and they told me Bell South was causing the problems and the technician who came to my house did not know the entire system was down. Since then, my connection speeds have been 850-950 bps but my connection is still unstable. I have had several lock ups and I have had to reboot with my computer or the system 3-4 time yesterday and twice today.
I will post another review in a few days whether things improve or not.
