Update: 5/31/12 Buckeye will start to cap all speed tiers starting on 6/1/12. :-(

Update: 11/1/10 Buckeye will have 50Mbps down and 3Mbps up!!

I can't wait for the speed increase on 11/1/10. I am so getting it!!

Update: Buckeye's 30Mbps down speed tier now has 2Mbps up!

Buckeye just added a new speed tier, 30Mbps down and 1Mbps up. I just got the speed upgrade today from the 20Mbps package and it is so awesome!

nice

They also now have a 50meg package. The tiers are looking pretty good now but the basic package could still use a little help.

I am very surprised they raised the upload so much on the small packages let alone any of them at all. Buckeye has always had good download speeds but they have not been known for their upload.

With this much of a upgrade I don't think we will be seeing any more speed increases for a fairly long while. I just hope this is not a prelude to usage caps.

Re: nice

Now only if they stopped packet filtering and network shaping. They are worse than Comcast. I've noticed even though I'm paying for the 30 mbps connection my downloads max out at 1.1mbps. It's interesting on how much money companies put in limiting me using what I pay for and not truly upgrading their systems...

Re: nice

All I can say is lose the crappy Bittorrent and you'll be much happier all around. There are much better and faster things out there even if the ISP's didn't throttle p2p connections.

Nearly all of them now slow p2p downloads no matter where you go,some are worse then others. There are many other services out there where you don't have to deal with that for little or no extra money.

I for one have no problems with their service now. Download speeds are always at their highest, pings in the games are always great as long as your not on a crappy server, and they have almost no downtime what so ever anymore.

I stopped reading here. That statement is so silly I'm not even gonna bother arguing because it will only make me dumber.

Re: nice

I must have been having a bad day when I wrote that. I apologize for the dumb comment.

My point now is that the internet is evolving. There are still providers that do not shape p2p. Verizon is one of them. Most DSL providers too. To say that they all do it is just bad logic. We need to stop accepting such mainstream ideas as reality because it promotes more consumer apathy and less innovative thinking.
