I originally signed-up with ELN/Mindspring a few years ago. I loved the service, but moved. ELN wasn't easily available at the time of my move so I tried @Home. After inconsistent reliablity and connection speeds, I tried to get ELN DSL. First try in the new area of Chicago was unsuccesful; however, I hung in there and I'm now using ELN again. The largest headache with installation seemed to be Covad's relationship with Ameritech (SBC). It's day one of my ELN experience at my new location; however, I'm glad to be back.

I've since ran into problems. My DSL connection drops from 1500 to about 200 from 5:30p til about 8 or 9p. Earthlink has no explanation. They went through a myriad of problems, from halogen lamps to microwave ovens. When ELN couldn't give me consistent connect speeds, I asked to cancel. I had to jump through hoops (including 3 hour wait for tier 2 tech support) to cancel. It was painful.

I'm back using ATTBI (cable) and not experiencing the speed drop that is generally associated with cable. It was wierd to get such a drop in speed with ELN's DSL.
