    The new pricing got me moving on switching DSL providers. I figured it was coming anyway after the Bells won their "wholesale pricing" case.

    I've been with DSLExtreme for two years and was very happy but I no longer needed a $45/mo plan (3 Mbps with static IP).

    I thought I was switching to the $18/mo 3 Mbps plan but apparently I live too far from the CO for SBC. I'm actually happy that SBC "talked me out of it", saved another $60/year . I really only need 1.5 Mbps anyway. Of course with the PPPoe overhead, that's closer to 1.2 Mbps but for email and web surfing that's plenty. I did also notice a slight latency compared to my previous setup but again that's not a huge deal. I'm happy to be paying about a third of the cost.

    Turns out I really only need 768/384! Can't beat $10/mo for 12mo.
