What other options did you consider for broadband?
I'm considering Cavalier despite what I've read no one else has dsl in my area for a reasonable price. I have had AT&T for years so I was excited when they first announced that they providing dsl service. I have AOL and they do not offer dsl. In have been checking back and forth for the last four years and still nothing in my area.... its always "check back with us"...or "perhaps in a few months". STILL NOTHING, its sickening that people on both sides of the street have it but my house is out of range by 1100 ft.
What SPEED/package did you order, at what monthly price? I have just the phone service at the moment until the cavtel kicks in. Its 44.59- 48$ a month. It would have only been an extra 20 bucks to get the dsl, the guy I had gave my zip code to was all set to sign me up... then he asked for my zip code again so I gave to him then he hit me with the, "oh I'm sorry its not in your area yet". He couldn't see that the first time and second time I gave him my zip code and area code. wtf. Cavtel offers up to 15 mps most people say they are getting 8. Anything has to be better than the AOL dial up I have. If at&t get dsl in my area perhaps I'll return.
I'll update later.
It seems that all of these companies have negs and positives. I'm am just sick of dial up.
