I was fed with ATT DSL, not getting even the minimum 1.5 to 3.0 mps. I switched to METRO-FI and the free wireless internet in Concord, California. When Metro-Fi folded, I signed up for 30 day contract, DSL PRO 3.0 to 6.0 mps. The 2WIRE wired/wireless modem works well, and I connected my Nintendo Wii, and my old IMAC to the Ethernet connection. Unfortunately, lately I have noticed the need to reboot, reconnect every day or two. This works, but is very annoying. I considered ASTOUND broadband. COMCAST was fast, but very expensive. I don't know if my DISH NETWORK VIP722 receiver with both phone and internet will work with digital telephone or cable internet. DSL Pro is generally about 2mps of the 3mps I am paying for. With the previous plan I got about 1.2 of the 1.5 to 3.0 mps. For now I'll stick with ATT. I can switch anytime I want with the 30 day plan. UVERSE was approved for Concord, but ATT only provides what is most profitable and doesn't care about the communities needs. If Clearwire ever brings WIMAX at a decent price and speed to Concord, I will seriously consider it. All of these incompatibility problems drive me crazy, so I'll stick with ATT for the time being, until some ISP makes me a better offer.
