After having Vonage for eight months I have been through some good times and some bad times. At first the service was very good with no problems. Around November outages started occuring and these intermittent outages occured for three months. In February the outages occured less frequently and now it works just like the PSTN line I had with Verizon. Hopefully they have gotten their act together and will work better overall.
I have never used the 911 service or called customer service. The website, however, is very slow.
Update 22 Sept 2007:
I have had Vonage for 4 years now and it is just like having a regular landline phone. There have been no outages (other than a few due to power, internet etc. which were between few minutes to an hour) in the past two years. I haven't had to call customer service and very rarely go to the website which is much faster than the last review.
Update 11 Sept 2008(as per dslrbot):
The same thing can be said as in the previous update except this year I have moved and have had no outages due to any reason.
