**I no longer use Vonage VoIP**
I've had Vonage VoIP service for a year now. When I first started they had me on the 29.95 a month plan. That gave me unlimited local and long distance calling. The first month of service was pretty decent. I tried taxing my internet connection out my performing massive downloads while talking on the phone. It did screw up voice quality quite a bit. So, I've learned not to do that while I'm using it. After a month I started having some strange issues. The Cisco device would start dropping off the network. I would have to power the device off and back on again to get a dialtone. Then, the dialtone would be there, but dialing proved usless. Customer support was somewhat clueless, I can imagine they were flipping through flow charts. But, as with most internet-esq things, the issues smoothed themselves out over a few weeks and ever since then I've had relatively smooth times. Of course when the cable modem dies so does Vonage and so therefore I have a cellphone if that ever occurs. Recently I purchased a D-Link wireless router. The Cisco device had no problems with it, but I notice I have to power it off and back on again in order to get a dialtone back. I think I may post a message in the VoIP forum to figure out what's causing that. Oh and before I forget, Vonage offered a 14.95 a month plan. 500 minutes (local or long distance) I took it. With all of the features available and the fact I don't talk on the phone as much as I use to.. the value is well.. very nice.. It's nice to not have to be tied down by the bells billing woes anymore!
