    My Other Reviews·Cox HSI
I canceled by Vonage after 1 year. It was not worth it when I can get a digital telephone through Cox for only $20.00 + tax.

When I moved back to California in December of 2006 I switched back to Cox Communications. I stall had to pay Vonage every month until my year was up in April of 2007.

I have always been happy with Cox and have never had any problems with them.

    Bye Bye Vonage!

p.s. And an UPS would never handle the sometimes 9 hour outages we had in Texas!

    Phone goes out with electricity

Get yourself a good UPS and put your modem and phone on that...Thats what I do and I now have phone service when the power is out.

When you get VOIP you should research the downs and ups about it. The best bet is to get a UPS so if your power goes out you still have Vonage.

    Faxing Problems

when using fax machines with vonage there are a few things that have to be changed on your fax because of the way it interacts with the phone device. the first thing to consider is that the phone ports on the devices only run at 14.4kbps, so lower your baud rate and try it again. also you may have better results if you disable error correction mode(seems stupid but trust me). there are also some small settings inside the devices that might need to be tweaked to make the line more "fax freindly", not something you can change from your end though, you may want to spend some free time(hopefully not too much) with a tech agent going over them. also try running a line quality test off this site to check for packet loss or latency on your internet connection.
