I am on hold for the second time waiting for a rep to cancel. I explained that I didn't have a problem with Vonage, but that Charter internet service was so unreliable that I couldn't keep it up. I was told it will be 15 minutes, and it was. Then, I got a polite rep that wouldn't shut up when all I wanted was to cancel. After about the third time telling her that I just need to cancel so I can get back to work, the line suddenly went dead. I'm back on the phone now trying it again. Wow. I can't believe these people. I told the second person at least a dozen times to please, PLEASE don't try to talk me out of cancelling. She offered me a free month. She offered me two free months. I told her that I was going to just start repeating myself. PLEASE JUST CANCEL MY SERVICE. I did this for about five minutes. She was like a robot. I could never recommend this service to anyone because of this difficulty. My final comment to the person was that I would never, ever, ever use Vonage again, not for any problems with the service itself, but for the unbelievable clinging, 'don't leave me!!!' attitude they have. There should be a simple option to disconnect service on their webpage. Wow. That's all I can say. I feel like I just ran the gauntlet.
