UPDATE(9/17/07): Finally got to a human being in billing. Bottom line I dumped them, no charges for ending service, and I am so glad to be rid of them. This companies business practices and processes are borderline of criminal. They should be avoided at all costs!!

Earlier this year I purchased the Annual Freedom plan with the intention of using it for FAX. I paid for a whole year of service in advance. I subsequently learned by both experience and research that FAX over VOIP is very unstable. Since I had no use for one more telephone line, I tried to cancel the plan-was not asking for a refund-just wanted to cancel it out. I was informed that I would have to pay an early termination fee. I said, you already have my money, why should I pay more. Response was that was their policy. So I decided to just let the account sit there and maybe use the phone every once in a while. Figured it was easiest approach, and when the year ended, I would not renew anything.

Today I discovered that this company has been billing my credit card for the last three months for monthly service--service I have already paid for. Somehow this smacks of fraudulent practices, or a billing department screwed up beyond recovery. Trying to communicate with the company is difficult unless you call-I have a hearing problem and prefer email. How it will resolve out I don't know at this point. But they owe me over $75 and I would just like to be rid of them.

    Credit Card?

You must be kidding! Call your CC company right away and dispute the charges as FRAUD! Trust me, they will NEVER argue with you about this. Then, have them change the CC number so that you don't get billed anymore.

Never EVER let this companies win. Don't just go along with the BS just because you "paid for one year".
