Basic no frills internet service. Gets the job done with no wow factor.
Other services exceed Wave in features, unfortunately they are not available in our service area.
When wave first took over our service area it was a step backward. Gone were the ability to create web pages and email accounts online heck you couldn't even pay your bill online. The IP addresses were detected as Canadian which made some web sites redirect customers to Canadian pages.
They have added online bill pay and the IP addresses are recognized as US addresses but email accounts and activating your web space still requires a phone call. On the plus side speeds have increased though they still lag behind other services.
**** 1/31/08 **** Have been without service for two days. They see that seven people are without service in our area but won't send a truck to investigate unless two more call in about it. If they can see the outage in their system why the heck can't they provide a little service? ***** ARGH! *****
**** 06/09/09 **** Service has been atrocious lately. We have the 6Mb/1Mb tier yet speed tests come back as being in the 128Kb range. Looking at the test results for Wave here on DSL reports show that this is currently common among users in Port Orchard during the evenings. We are seriously considering switching to Qwest DSL. 1.5Mb is slow by today's standards but that is currently around 12X faster than what we are getting out of Wave. Looks like it is time to wave good bye to Wave.
