"tech support readily available, voice quality, not a big faceless company"
"no 24/7 support, website's ugly"
"perhaps I'm just the lucky one or perhaps this company is doing it right"

I remember the days of the early Internet in MA and the small companies that offered service not just a product. I long those days. I had started signing up for Lingo on Monday morning when I stumbled on a bunch of awful reviews about their customer service. I decided to take a minute and give a call to GalaxyVoice, which I had heard offered a similar service and were local.
The person that answered the phone though not a salesman convinced me not by a lame sales pitch but by spending 45 minutes on the phone with me explaining the process, the technology, etc. 45 minutes!!! I signed up and by Wednesday, my account was set-up. I was given the option of using a softphone and by Thursday I received my adapter. I literally plugged it into my phone and router and that was it. I called France and the quality was like next room. I have a hard time believing this. Only problem so far, was logging in to our voicemail through our home phone. Two quick calls to tech support and this only problem is gone. I hope this is not another Netflix with great service during the trial period and then sloppy performance afterwards. Right now, I would not change if you paid me... (well, how much are we talking?)
11/06/05 Still happy with GalaxyVoice but I notice that the sound quality is always stellar when calling France or Oregon but tends to be average when calling locally. Doesn't make much sense but that's what I have noticed.
3/25/06 No complaints with GalaxyVoice so we finally decided to port our wired land number over to their service and as of next week, all wired service will be a thing of the past.
09/16/06 Still outstanding quality but the Caller ID feature has not been working for about two months and technical support said they are still trying to resolve the issue. The caller ID feature displays just the number and in most cases just states "Unknown"
12/06/06 Caller ID still broken. rest is the same.
01/10/07 Moved to a new home about 15 miles away. Didn't have to do a thing in terms of moving my phone service with me. Same number, just plugged in the Sipura adapter into the new cable modem outlet and that was that. Quality is still excellent in the new location. One thing to remember is to update your 911 information on their website.
4/04/07 Got new wireless phone service from Verizon and two new numbers. At first we were unable to connect the call from our VoIP phone to either cell phone. Took tech support about ten days to clear the problem and they kept us updated all along. All is well now.
05/20/07 Caller ID problem has finally been fixed!!!
09/22/07 Still loving it!
11/06/07 Upgraded to a new computer and found out that Internet Explorer is no longer supported or available for Mac. Despite using Firefox as my main browser, IE was the only browser that played my galaxyvoice voicemails flawlessly. Firefox and Safari both have issues with it. However I found that cutting and pasting the link to your wav file from Firefox into Quicktime Player works very well. It's an extra step but easier and less cumbersome than having an obsolete browser installed on my new machine.
