Value for money:

I have been using my DSL line for two weeks now, and I could not be more
pleased with the service. I ordered GTE's Bronze package with the free
modem self-install package. I had heard too many gripes about GTE's ISP
service, so I signed up with NorthWestLink.

The installation package arrived from GTE within the 10 days allowed.
Hookup was a snap. Initially, I had problems with intermittent phone line
problems. GTE tested the phone line, and said the problem was at their end.
They worked on my phone line for two days, and fixed the problem. I could
not ask for better service than that. Stuff happens; they fixed it. Since
then, I have been getting great connections and downloads at
80-90KBytes/sec.

NWLink allowed me dialup access until the GTE ADSL modem arrived - a nice
touch that GTE does not provide. Another big plus: my SPAM e-mail count is
down from 10-15 per day to ZERO versus EarthLink.

I use VPN (Virtual Private Network) software provided by my employer to
access my company's intranet. This entails setting up a new TCP/IP
configuration that is totally different from the one I use for NWLink (I use
NetSwitcher to handle the two configs). The connection allows me to access
my workstation at the office and my company e-mail at DSL speed. The speed
is comparable to what I get at work, but not as fast as my NWLink
throughput.
