I looked into digital phone service, seeking to downsize our budget.

AT&T Call Vantage looked good to me, because they were having a deal going that shaved off another $5.00 per month, because I have an AT&T cell phone.

The TA arrived within a week. Had a little trouble at first, hooking up, because I had to change the order they were hooked up, to get the best internet speed.

But the voice clarity is great! You could compare it to the best land line phone service!

The only problem I have been having is that it sometimes cuts out. On my end it sounds like "snow." (the sound you hear on your TV after the station has signed off) I don't know why it does that, and it can be annoying at times, but the price and clarity make me happy so Call Vantage stays in this house!

    UPDATE:

Well, six months ago we had a family tragedy, and my phone was in use, non stop. Seemed like every call was getting cut off...having to call people back just got to be just too much to cope with. The call QUALITY was still there, but the RELIABILITY was terrible. I had called the company previously and tried re-setting everything up countless times, but to no avail. And, since I don't have ATT as my cable provider, I didn't want to get into the dance about where the fault laid, I gave up and reluctantly went back to a land line.

Amazing that in this review where you said the call quality was so bad you had to give it up and go back to a landline, yet it falls in the "smooth ride" category. Even with 'reliability' down to 20%. Perhaps you should go back and change the ratings to better reflect your update.

    Re: update ratings

Have to agree. If the service got so bad you had to leave, how could it be "100 percent value for money".

But it is all moot, because they are never going to sign up any more customers.
