    I got rid of comcast phone/internet/cable once ATT U-verse was an option. Here in IL U-voice isn't an option right now. So I decided to try out Call Vantage. I called in to sign up. I do have ATT for wireless and if you do you can get the unlimited plan for $19.99 instead of $24.99. I had heard on the forums here if you had DSL same discount applied. So I asked about u-verse and they said same discount applies.

    Took about 7 business days to port my number. TA was sent overnight and setup I had some issues. Called tech support got it working in a matter of minutes. I could make outbound calls inbound weren't ported at that time. Then I got a email saying the port would happen on 2/27. First thing in the morning all was working on the CV line. Switched everything over to the TA.

    So far I can't complain it sounds just like POTS. I haven't had any issues other then either power failure, internet or TA glitch. If that happens you can't dial out on the line unless you login to the web portal to confirm your 911 address. Understandable why that's done but some warning would have been nice ahead of time.

    Anyone we call can't tell it's VoIP at all. With my U-verse connection I have the 10/1.5 connection. I worked from home one day and I was on the phone and had someone downloading my my FTP server and I did a speedtest.

    Your Throughput

    Download = 7.225 Mbps
    Upload = 646.51 kbps

    That's pretty impressive and I didn't notice a difference in the quailty.
