Wow! I can't believe what I have been missing. Well - finally ordered DSL 3 weeks ago and the day of installation finally came. Hearing all the horror stories here, I called to triple check that everything was gonna be ready to roll.

I had a final today and was afraid I wouldn't be able to be here when the technician came, fortunately, he came extra early than expected. The whole installation took all of 5-10 minutes! The only hangup was that the C.O. hadn't activated the line yet - a simple call fixed that. They are now doing splitterless connections here in my area of Sac and gave me 2 line filters for the phone lines. They also provided a Westel Wirespeed modem since I had requested an external modem + NIC card (for Router purposes.)

After installation was up and running (FAST!) - I went to Fry's electronic and purchased a Linksys Router and downloaded the PPPoE bios update. The thing works flawlessly. We now have 4 people hooked up to the internet on one account.

Pac Bell speed is, of course, amazing. We are 9000 feet away from the C.O. and I get the full 1.5 megabit.. Downloads are 130-200k/sec and pings are in the 40s-80s with servers in northern cal for Half-life Counterstrike.

I have not had to deal with tech support yet. But my technician guy was kind enough to leave his pager, cell #, manager's #, etc. to contact if anything should go wrong.

The only weirdness so far was that my voice phone stopped working for like 15 minutes awhile ago.. weird..

Sorry for the verbose response - one other question for you guys - anyone have experience setting up linksys for use with dialpad??
