I ordered 6.0/768 'Value Speed DSL' on March 3rd, 2008 [after Earthlink screwed up the connection they'd supplied for several years previously] and they had it up and running on March 14th. I received an ADSL 2+ modem from Covad on the 17th. I got e-mail updates from Covad when each step of the process was completed. So far, everything is just as advertised on their website. This is re-sold Covad service, with Covad IP [dynamic] addresses, routing and DNS servers. Sales, installation and tech support are US-based [in Oregon].
It's still all good 18 months later.
I've only had to call support twice. The first time was a billing issue, which was resolved by a senior executive of Stephouse within a few hours [since I called late at night on a weekend]. The other call was to tech support for what looked like a dropped connection at the CO. I had to call them back with egg on my face when I figured out the problem was on my end after all [CAT3 had frayed or been chewed through, we're still not sure which]. It's nice to talk to actual American techs instead of 'tier one' in Bangalore who read from a script and want to sell you a new modem.
