"Best sound quality codec, great price!"

I've been a Packet8 subscriber for the past year and while i was generally happy with it, it never past "The Wife Test" and sound quality was fair not great.
Recently I messed up my P8 device with a firmware flash and it gave me incentive to try something new; I'm glad I did! Messing up my DTA-310 was a wonderful event. I had been trying to get the DTA-310 to work with the G711 codec because P8 uses a higher compression rate codec that doesnt sound as good.
So now I have the better codec and WOW! what a difference, sounds like pots. P8 NEVER sounded so good. SR passes "The Wife Test"! WooHoo!
Sunrocket beats P8s price and the new extra fees P8 charge are BS for VOIP. SR gives you a nice set of uniden cordless phones (which I can and do use).
Now for how it all went...
I waited for all my porting and incoming activation to go through before writing this review...
Ordered on 5/5/5
4 days after order (5/9/5) had "The Gizmo" and set it up in a few minutes without a hitch. I've tried it before and after my router and it works either way and doesn't slow down my broadband either way but I've left it after the router. Firmware is 4.54.35 .
Outgoing calls started immediately, mailboxes set up immediately.
Incoming calls began on 5/22/5 seventeen days after placing order.
Number porting (from P8 I might add) was successful on 6/6/5, one month after ordering.
Sound quality is great, price is great, free phones are great. P8 doesn't even answer my e-mails.
The only drawback was the lengthy time to get incoming calls and number ported but I had my calls forwarded from P8 right after incoming started. I lowed to 80% their tech support for these delays though it really has nothing to do with support, just tech.
Very happy now that its all done.
I think SR is a "best deal" VOIP all around and anyone considering VOIP should look at them first.
Best Wishes
Edited added 10/11/05:
Four and a half months later and I'm still very happy with SR. Best VOIP and best bang for the buck. One outage that they sent e-mails about before i knew it was happening and restored a day later. Excellent!
Edit 7/22/07
They went out of business and are trying not to refund any money. Too bad, I liked them.
Final Edit 3/26/08
My CC company got every penny back and I'm now on cable VOIP.
