I was a SunRocket customer from 12/2004 until 7/2006. During that time, I experienced a number of problems.

    1) Some of the CLEC's SunRocket uses do not pre-activate the numbers. You are advised that it may take 10 business days to recieve incoming calls. Since I established service during the December holidays, it took over 2 weeks to get my number activated.

    2) E911 not provisioned correctly -- After I recieved notice from SunRocket that E911 had been provisioned on my account, I tested it. My 911 call was directed to the wrong PSAP. The PSAP was two counties away from where I live. It took SunRocket 3 weeks to correct the call routing error.

    3) For the first 6 months of service, I hardly used it. There was a constant problem with one-way voice, dropouts and call completion issues. These eventually went away.

    4) The TOS states that the Annual Plan is automatically renewed unless you advise SR otherwise. Well .... at the end of my one year, I was automatically switched to the most expensive monthly plan. This issue took months to correct. I only got action after filing a BBB complaint against SR.

    5) SunRocket is prone to extended outages of several hours. Search the forum and see for yourself.

    6) I moved to another town that is served by the same 911 PSAP. When I advised SR of the service address change, they changed my phone number on me and didn't even let me know!!!!!! Since the new address is served by the same PSAP, this should only have been an update to the ALI database. SR would not correct their error and return my number. By the way, when I advised Vonage of my service address change, they updated the database only, as they should have. Bottom line .... never ever let SR know you moved or they will change your phone number on you or even terminate your account.

Overall: SR is a decent solution for cheap long distance. They cannot be counted on to serve as your primary line.

You get what you play for. I recommend spending a few more dollars and going with somebody else.
