    *******UPDATE 10-16-2007*******

This update, is the hardest I've ever had to do. Via Talk is a company that you should not do business with. From top to bottom they will lie to you. VTBrendan who is the CEO of ViaTalk told all members of BBR, that he would not charge anyone with an existing contract the E911 recovery fee, that they would only be charged that fee after their current contract renewed. Today we were now told that, he lied, and that fee was only waived for a year. ViaTalk and HostRocket, it's parent company, are not to be trusted. Do not do business with them, if you believe in honest business practices.

ViaTalk for the money is far superior then competitors who charge 2 to 3 times more then they do. I ordered the VT Unlimited plan on Sunday April 16,2006 and received my first PAP2 adapter on the 21st. Unfortunately for me, the PAP2 I received had a hum issue. This is a well known defect in the Linksys PAP2's in manufacturing. Also unfortunately for me, I had my technical issue at the same time ViaTalk launched a huge sales event.

It took a long time to finally get the issue resolved. Hours on hold, multiple calls, and finally a replacement PAP2 was sent. Which also had a hum, but a very minor one compared to the one it was replacing. I am happy with it. It sounds much better. As far as customer service goes, I give them an A for when you get a hold of them, but I give customer service a C overall because of the length of time it takes to get in contact with a human being.

The website is easy to navigate and the controls are easy to use. However, I have noticed an issue, where you change the settings in the account section and within a few days they revert back to default settings. This is slightly annoying, and hopefully an issue that will be addressed by ViaTalk soon. For that reason I give the website a low B.

When it comes to voice quality and reliability, I give ViaTalk an A+. They are outstanding, and for the price they charge it is an incredible bargain.

Overall I am extremely satisfied with ViaTalk, and will recommend the company to anyone interested in using VOIP.
