(ratings match consensus)

have been avidly following the progress of ViaTalk oh here for months. I've enjoyed reading about the successes and failures. I've also enjoyed seeing the CEO active and willing to address issues in the forum.

The order process was pretty simple, the shipping was very fast, and the setup was quite simple. I had a few technical gliches that were addressed quickly through the trouble ticket system.

Call quality is excellent, voicemail is good(I like that they removed the woman at the end of the message), and the web management is simple to navigate.

One important factor in using ViaTalk was the ability of my wife's electronic key to update nightly. I was concerned with that due to issues with fax/tivo/alarm that seem to be the norm. I was able to connect the first time I tried a manual sync and it has updated automatically each night. That was a major factor to get the WAF.

I'm getting ready to port my number from Vonage. I liked Vonage, but there were features that I wanted like ACR, that have never been delivered. The price was also more than that of other services. With ViaTalk offering a Network Availability Number, I now feel confident to port.

    Update; 915/06
It's been a bumpy few weeks for me with VT. From no service to spotty service, several issues have popped up during upgrades. During this process my number finally ported which took away the backup I had with Vonage.

Things hopefully will return to pre upgrade status soon,

    Update: 8/28/2007
Adapter is currently unplugged and network down forwarding is turned on. I am currently using my cable providers VOIP service and have been very happy with the reliability and call quality. My service with ViaTalk is paid through January of next year and close to that point I will decide weather or not to continue having it available.

    Viatalk Rating

If you aren't even using Viatalk anymore, why are they still getting such high ratings?

Do you still use them occasionally, or where those ratings based on your previous experience with them?
