Update, dated 2009-04-26: We are just passing our 2-year anniversary with TekSavvy now. Everything is still great. I don't recall that we have had a single outage other than the occasional scheduled and notified preventive maintenance outage in the middle of the night. Therefore I have little need to call the office or send them an e-mail, other than to inquire about home phone service. As usual, I was able to talk to someone immediately, no waiting, and the person was helpful and knowledgeable.

Speeds are still fast. Price has gone up $1 to $28 since we joined TekSavvy.

One thing to note about the supplied Thomson ST516 modem - I recently found out (from Thomson themselves) that there is a bug in the modem firmware version that was originally supplied. The bug prevented the establishment of a non-blank password for the administrative userid. Thomson sent me an update to the firmware (version 6.2.29.2) by e-mail, along with installation instructions, and that resolved it.

I appreciate TekSavvy's advocacy on behalf of its customers in the areas of net neutrality, throttling, etc.

Bottom line, in my opinion TekSavvy is still the way to go.

Original review, dated 2007-12-02: We have the 5MB service with 20GB cap. This has been fine for our needs. Speed seems snappy, I have not seen any problems. We are using the supplied Thomson SpeedTouch ST516 modem, no issues there.

We haven't had to contact tech support much, because the service has been reliable. The few times I did, I always got a real person without having to wait or push a lot of buttons on the phone. The techs seemed to know what they were talking about. For instance, they had some cool advice about creating a dedicated line to the router and using 2 filters nose-to-tail on that dedicated line - works well, because then you don't need filters on every phone and fax in the house.

I really appreciate the pricing at Teksavvy - hard to believe people pay over $45 to be with an ISP with a 65% rating, when they could pay less than $30 for an ISP with a 95% rating!

Good job Teksavvy, keep doing what you're doing and the customers will reward you with loyalty and referrals.

I think you meant 200GB cap right?
