After being fed up with Roger's (cable) and Bell (phone company) poor service and throttling I decided to switch to TekSavvy based on their consistently high marks here and elsewhere. After one month of service I have nothing but praise for them.
Their customer service knows what their talking about and doesn't try to BS you, greatly appreciated! The switch over from Bell Sympatico to TekSavvy happened with zero incident and no downtime.
I'm on a dry-loop DSL plan, so my bill works out to $39/month, cheaper than Sympatico (who 'waive' the dry-loop charge) or Rogers (who obviously don't charge a dry loop fee). This gets me 200GB transfer limit and a "5Mbps" connection. My one complaint, 5Mbps is the fastest speed offered, there is no option for any ADSL2+ service.
That being said, my "5Mbps" connection actually connects at 6Mbps downstream and 800Kbps upstream and speed is outstanding! I have often managed 550 to 600Kbyte/second download speeds. Definitely the fastest download speeds I've encountered in Canada.
The second complaint is half complaint, half praise. TekSavvy is currently having P2P traffic (among other things) throttled by Bell. This sucks. The good thing is that TekSavvy is activity fighting against this and doing their best to stick up for us users.
Long story summed up in 5 words: Best ISP I've ever used.
