I was in consideration between Teksavvy and Videotron. Teksavvy was definitely the cheapest option!
I was with Rogers before and noticed that the service was fast for games (COD4, BF2, BF2142 and others I can play with no lag whatsoever...)
I ordered the 200gb service, knowing that I was at a distance to the CO that wouldn't permit me the full 5 meg... (just under 5 megs) figured i would try it, if it doesnt work for my needs, go with cable...
Well, so far it's been about a week... haven't had any problems configuring the service, didn't even need to call in tech support for it, until I set up my router... but that's another story.
The customer service when I called was amazingly helpful, I have to admit having worked in this type of field before, it was a relief not to have a million buttons to press before speaking to a live rep (or speaking to a robot/emily). and the rep was extremely helpful!
I ordered phone services with it also, the total for my internet and phone comes to just a little over 50$, that can't be beat! If you're with Bell, you should definitely think of switching...
The only thing I'll mention is that due to distance, I don't have the best latency in games, and find myself in the ping range of 60, when i was at 30 with Rogers average, making some games a little choppy... but the bit torrents are faster (when not throttled). so it's evened things out for me... it is to be expected with DSL to have line issues if you're on the border of the loop.
EDIT: I upped my review for connection reliability, upon contacting Teksavvy, they had Bell fix my line in 24 hours, was very surprised at the speed they fixed it! I had a 6meg line profile put in place by Bell originally, however I knew I was at the end of the loop and wanted a fastpath profile, so they put in the request and 24 hours later it was done. I have to point out that Teksavvy is great and having support through DSLreportts is also amazing!

| Re: Enjoy Haven't tried games yet, the line was changed today, so when I get home I'll find out, but playing COD4 with over 60 ping was not fun... Can't wait to check it out. Plus noticed my other wireless PC had a more stable connection this morning while i was browsing my morning news, so I guess that may have helped it a little.. | |

join:2008-03-18 Gatineau, QC | The pings are amazingly better now, doing some 30-40ping to COD4 game servers, whereas before it was above 60... Makes a difference! An of course when not throttled, capable of getting some good 500k and over download speeds, love that! | |
