I'll start with the 2 'bad' things that I experienced.
I signed up for it, and was surprised to hear they were going to start charging for it immediately, even though it wasn't going to be activated until the following week.
The second issue I had was I had no idea that the modem already came configured. When I called to try to get it working, the guy told me that it was already configured for me -- and the reason there wasn't a sticker on the modem box (or CD for that matter) was because there was a spelling error? Turned out it didn't matter that I installed the CD or fooled with the settings, but I thought it was odd.
On the plus side of things ;
I signed up for unlimited because I do a fair bit of downloading. 200 GB probably would have done it, but I figured I'd keep it on the safe side. My pings aren't as great in video games as they were through cogeco cable, but that's fine, and they explained that with unlimited it wont be as fast as it can be.
Overall, if you download a fair bit, I highly recommend these guys. With cogeco, it really didn't take long filling my 80gb cap with just playing videogames, and downloading off the PS3 store.

| Billing Date Hello,
The way our billing works is prepaid. Our DSL Service is a prepaid service. IE:
Activation Date: July 1, 2007 First Bill: June 26, 2007 First Bill pays for July 1-July 31
So in the end you're not losing out on any days but you're pre-paying for the next month. As for the modem being preconfigured, there should be a notification that this has been done. I appologize if this was not done in your case.

| Re: Billing Date that's great re -- billing.
no love lost over the 'confusion'. it was very odd that the tech guy told me the modem was pre-configured (I don't recall a situation regarding if I used a router or not, regardless mine still doesn't work), and that the reason I wasn't informed about this was because of a spelling mistake on a sticker?
I've been cable broadband before, never had a (speed pro) CD mailed to me -- I figured it was needed with DSL. apparently that made a it incapacitate.
Couldn't be happier with the service since directly to the PC. I'm assuming it's just my router, which even when configured ( according to teksavvy links ) properly -- it reads the net just fine, and with proper local ips setup, just wont work. :/ | |

| Re: Billing Date With the router you cannot access the internet? I am guessing you cannot surf? I have seen that before where a router doesn't like to pass on the DNS information. Send me a PM as I would like to test something out with you.
