It's been 3 months or so now that I have been with TekSavvy. I was previously a Rogers Hi-Speed Extreme customer. While I did not have much issue with Rogers as far as reliability went, the prices, service cuts (newsgroups, etc) and bandwidth caps did it in for me.
Fast forward, having just moved, we signed up both telephone and internet from TekSavvy. Everything was set up in three to five days from move-in date and that was only because the previous tenants forgot to completely disconnect their telephone line. That was the only delay. Profile upgrade (from 3mbit interleave to 5mbit fastpath) was done within 2 days after that. Do I miss the 1.2MB speeds and slightly better ping times I had with Rogers? Yea, I admit I do. But honestly, I'd ditch Rogers again in a heartbeat because I gain so much more with TekSavvy for a lot less in cost. Not to mention TekSavvy stands to fight the good fight in various net neutrality issues.
Service: Unlimited Package (no bandwidth caps, Cogent tier (slightly worse ping tims than Premium))
Speed: D 5mbit / U 800k sync
Actual Speed: Avg around D 520-550kB / U 75-85kB
Ping times: 20-50ms on most Eastern/Central servers within Canada and the United States
Disconnections since activated: 1 brief DSL Sync recycle, which may have been something on my end.
