Reasons for my ratings:
Pre-sales: Staff & clients are very active on the DSLR forums, which gives the best insight to what one can expect. Many perspectives, no worry about it just being some sales-spiel. What little I needed to ask on the phone was very good, too.
Install co-ordination: I'm not sure what to put here. From the forums I already knew what I needed to do (what modem to get, how to configure it, etc). Telus (unlike Bell) make a distinction between their own clients and wholesale (MAC-filtered DHCP vs. PPPoE), so the two cannot overlap. Which meant I couldn't overlap my service and thus had a bit of down time while switching providers. 4/5 because it's not perfect but not something to fault TSI for.
Reliability: I've been with TSI for over half a year now and have had two disruptions in my service. The first was when there was a fire near the main Vancouver internet hub, disrupting service for multiple ISPs. That lasted a few hours and would have affected me regardless of who my ISP was. The second was that my port decided to crap out, resulting in a partial connection (and making it more difficult to track down). That would have affected me with any DSL ISP (as it was DSL specific hardware, and shared by Telus + any wholesaler). That was more painful, but one of the TSI techs took care of my ticket personally and it was ultimately resolved.
Tech Support: The best I've ever dealt with! My line issue (see above) taught me how great the techs are at TSI. They're not reading scripts -- they know what they're talking about. If something stumps them, they're not too proud to go ask questions AND CALL BACK! When it became clear that my issue was hardware related (cue telco involvement), one tech (and I see here in the instructions I'm not supposed to name individuals) took care of my ticket personally so I knew my issue wouldn't be lost or dropped. I even received updates from him while he was off-shift!
Services: The service is great. There are options for various things such as static IP, hosting, email, etc, but all I'm interested in is a pipe to the internet and that's it. And that pipe is great. Consistently good speeds (I'm on a 3Mb profile due to where I live), the routing works (I've experienced bad routing with other ISPs before), my pings are good, and the bandwidth is very reasonable (compared to much of the competition, a true breath of fresh air).
Value for money: I've shopped around and sampled a few alternatives but haven't found anything to match TSI's value.
Summary: I've a very happy customer and expect to remain that way for a very long time.
