TSI was fantastic, unbelievably good years ago when I signed up, and again when I added a second line. They offer MLPPP for line-bonding and faster P2P, permit servers, and generally are pretty good about all of that stuff.
But DSL tech support is totally ineffectual nowadays. Any complaint or query about intermittent line issues is met with the threat of a $100 "diagnostic fee", which is often charged even when no effort is made to actually diagnose or fix the issues.
Best advice for DSL: get it from Bell first. If the lines turn out to be bad, stick with Bell, or switch to TSI cable internet. If the lines are good, and NOT ON A BELL REMOTE, then cancel Bell and switch to TSI DSL.
Diagnostics charge = Bell scam You seem fairly knowledgeable about the stranglehold Bell has on its competitors, so its strange that you think that it is TSI that is charging you 100 dollars for diagnostics.
This charge has been implemented by Bell in order to irritate Teksavvy customers.

Re: Diagnostics charge = Bell scam They do... When the charge is able to be.. You just have to ask. The issue here is Bell and Rogers both own the end user networks and have the ability to impose these charges. TSI can't blindly just eat this. No matter who pays who.
The way the system works, is if you get charged, then you need to speak up and say something to TSI why you think the charge is not valid.. If they can, they will fight for you.
The issue is many forget that although you deal with TSI, bell and Rogers both still have their hands in the pot due to their monoply on the end user network, madated by the CRTC..
