So far, it's been great.
I've had it for just over a week and a half. I have the 15/2 package, and consistently see 100% of those speeds.
No instability so far, but we'll see as time goes on.
Our community, Brambleton in Loudoun County, Virginia was (one of?) the first all fiber to the home community, first homes being built in 2002. The installation was painless, took only about an hour. The wireless router provided is rather ho hum, but I replaced it with my own Linux box.
FiOS is replacing our mom and pop ISP (Gatehouse Networks), and is a welcome change. Our previous fiber provider gave us 1.5/1.5 service, never actually saw those speeds either.
*Update 9/27/13* After nearly 8 years, FIOS is still great - have the 50/25 package now and still loving it.
