04/03/08 Update - Two years later, continued flawless execution of the Internet product from a technical perspective (Billing is another matter). I am still getting 15 Mb sustained on sites that provide it (and surprisingly or maybe not, these sites are still few and far between).

Now bundled on the FiOS Triple Play package. The TV service works well, standard definition is better than Comcast, HD looks very sharp. VOD is spotty and tends to glitch an awful lot, however HD VOD is now starting to make its way out.

Overall, I could not be more pleased with this package.

    Original Review:

Verizon FIOS offers a one-month discount if you order online. Unfortunately, their online order process does not sync with their computer systems, which causes problems if you don't immediatley call them after submitting the order online. Because of this, on the original install date, neither the line run to the house nor the actual ONT installation were scheduled.

Called them and they scheduled a new appointment for the following week. The day of the install, the line to the house still had not been run and the installer couldn't do anything. However, after the installer called VZ, a line crew came out shortly and ran the line to the house, and due to a cancelled appointment, the installer came back and finished the install on the same day. Due to the hassles, we have 2 free months, and then $44.95 with the one year contract on the 15/2 plan.

Once the wiring was done, the install went very quickly. We have the wired/wireless router they supplied (for free) and it took less than 5 minutes to get online and have all computers up and running.

The service is fast and reliable. Consistently hit 15.1 Mb down on sites that can support it. To get equivalent service from cable would cost $10/mo more with less likelihood of obtaining those speeds vs. FIOS.

Bottom line, after ordering FIOS, hound them repeatedly in advance to make sure the line is run to your house so the installer can complete the process when he arrives. Aside from that bump, no regrets.

    SWEET

Very nice. I would think that as time goes by, theyll have their coordination improved. Its a brand new service , theyll be a few bumps. I wish I had FTTP here in CT, but Im stuck in AT&T land now with their half assed plans of VDSL.

Although I may agree with you in the long run, lets not judge before you even see the product, geez.

I am 16 months into Fios, with not one issue. Speed is still the same as day one........:)
