4/06 Ordered 30/5 12 month plan on line and install crews were here 3 days later, on time. Install went smooth, and I was up and running in under three hours. Verizon downloaded software and adjusted the TCP parameters and Outlook mail settings. Speed tests confirmed the install: 29358/4369 kbps. 10ms pings. Imagine 6 years ago I bought a 512/128kbps DSL connection, and now today get 30/5 mbps for the same price!
Updated install co-ordination ratings to a 5, I was called several times to confirm the install appointment. The techs did a nice, neat job with the install.
Tech support updated to a 5, An email support question was answered quickly, and a later phone support request was impressive. The agent did a remote-session and changed some IE settings, and deleted a duplicate network adapter.
Speed test results remain consistent, and a line quality test was the best I've seen. This service is fast, Very Fast.
Updated 10/06 It's almost six months now, of uninterrupted, blazing fast, service.
GET IT, if you can.
Update April 5, 2007 : not one single issue with the service to report. Running an entire year 100 % solid, totally awesome. TV is still not yet an available option, here.
August 2007: An upcoming Fios price increase of close to 10 percent, and a close to 15 percent phone increase earlier this summer has made me rethink my options. Cablevision offered a sizeable winback discount on phone and internet services, an offer I couldn't refuse. After one little bump, OOL and OV are up and running. Adios, for now, FiOS.
