It was worth the wait. Town was live in June '05 but only for pole-fed customers. They finally buried the fiber on my street a few weeks back. I had been promised a call when the service was ready and sure enough I got a call.

I ordered the 20/5 service. Techs showed up at 9:00 AM the scheduled day and finished up in about 4 hours. Very professional install.

Couldn't get my CallVantage TA to work behind the router but the installers came back at 5:00 to try again with someone more familiar with VoIP setups and stayed til 6:30. We finally gave up and put the TA in front of the router which is killing the speeds. I'm porting the CallVantage numbers to VoiceWing which should work behind the router and will save me about $5.00/month to boot.

There are plenty of VoIP providers but I really don't feel like being a ginea pig to see if their TAs work with the Actiontec.

I'm going to try Voice Wing and see how that goes. The price is right and the features are good.

Yeah. As always, it is your choice. Write a review so I can see how it goes.

Well, Voice Wing didn't work out. They're having all kinds of problems shipping out adapters so I canned it and went to Staples and bought a Vonage TA.

What a piece of cake to set up. Everything's working great now.

Be sure to write a review for that as well. Enjoy your vonage experience.
